At Remote Control Car Shop, we stand behind our RC products as passionately as we stand behind our builds. Whether it’s a 1/10 scale crawler or high-performance drift components, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If something isn’t right, our straightforward returns process has you covered.
Our Return Promise
We accept returns and exchanges within 15 days of delivery for most products (see exceptions below). All items must be:
- In original, unopened packaging (for boxed items like ESC units or Carisma kits)
- Undamaged and unused (for parts like SCX10 upgrades or batteries)
- Accompanied by proof of purchase
Non-Returnable Items
Some specialty RC components cannot be returned for safety and hygiene reasons:
- CNHL Batteries (lithium battery safety regulations)
- Opened Body Shells (custom paint/preparation)
- Clearance/Combo Items (as marked on product pages)
- Used Electrics (ESC, motors, etc.)
How to Initiate a Return
Follow these steps to get your return processed faster than a Mini-Z on a straightaway:
Step 1: Contact Our RC Team
Email [email protected] within 15 days of delivery with:
- Your order number
- Product name (e.g., “Axial SCX24 parts”)
- Reason for return
- Whether you want a refund or exchange

Step 2: Wait for Authorization
Our Indianapolis-based team will respond within 24 hours with:
- Return authorization number
- Shipping instructions (varies by location)
- Any special handling notes (especially for large items like 1/8 off-road kits)
Step 3: Ship Your Return
Package items securely (use original packaging when possible) and include:
- Completed return form (we’ll email this)
- Copy of your invoice
Note: Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to our error.
Refund Processing
Once we receive and inspect your return:
- Timing: Refunds processed within 3-5 business days
- Method: Original payment method (Visa, MasterCard, JCB, PayPal)
- Notification: You’ll receive an email confirmation
Allow 7-10 business days for the refund to appear on your statement (varies by bank).
Exchange Process
For exchanges (e.g., swapping 1/10 on-road tires for off-road versions):
- Follow standard return procedure
- Specify desired replacement item in your email
- We’ll ship the new item once the return is received
- Price differences will be charged/refunded as needed
Damaged or Incorrect Items
If your SCX10 upgrade kit arrives damaged or you receive the wrong drift parts:
- Contact us immediately at [email protected]
- Include photos of the issue
- We’ll cover return shipping and expedite your replacement
RC Expert Tip
For faster resolution when returning electric components (ESC, chargers, etc.), include a brief video demonstrating the issue. This helps our technicians diagnose problems quickly!
International Returns
For customers outside the US:
- Mark the package as “Returned Goods” to avoid customs fees
- We recommend using tracked shipping (DHL/FedEx)
- Refunds will be in USD (currency conversion handled by your bank)
